Al Ganzoury, a prominent Egyptian family, decided to establish an international school as a means of ‘giving back’ something of value to Egyptian society. Under the guidance of the Board Members; and encouraged by the family educational business experiences, the decision was made to establish an American International School.
The school is growing. Its staff complement is increasing. The future is bright.
HIS School is unique.
The school intentionally strives to create an atmosphere and environment which is distinctly American.
Our students are expected to understand and accept the American ‘way of things’. This does not mean that we are trying to change our Egyptian students and other foreign nationals into Americans. Rather we are asking our students to embrace their cultural heritage at the same time as they learn from their teachers other ways of thinking, behaving and growing.
The school calendar includes school "holidays" or vacation time. Whenever possible, personal vacations should align with school vacation days.
English, math, science, and history are the core courses, offered at multiple levels and matched to each student. Students also have access to a comprehensive catalog of other courses that include art, technology, world languages, anthropology, Arabic, French, German and much more.
We provide all the textbooks and instructional materials that are needed to complete the program.
The pace of the program is flexible; however, students must demonstrate regular academic gains while enrolled in the program. Face-to-face classes, tutoring, and other academic enrichment opportunities are available to students to assist in meeting this important requirement.
HIS students have many opportunities to interact both socially and academically, as they would in any other school. In addition to classroom interaction and socializing during the school day, students have the ability to participate in after-school clubs, sports, and extra-curricular activities, such as boys’ and girls’ basketball and soccer teams.
Visit our admission section for information on enrolling in our program.
